Rush Salons come to Holborn

Rush Salon, Holborn
I am no stranger to a good Rush Salon (as you can tell from my visit to Milton Keynes, West Hampstead, and the House of Rush)
I also am a regular customer to my local salon in Watford and have been for many years. I can definitely say that Rush Salons are my go to salon!

2016 has been a great year for them as they have opened many new franchises. The latest being one in Holborn within central London

Chi Kitchen Christmas Menu

Chi Kitchen Christmas Menu
I am no stranger to Chi Kitchen. I have been twice already this year and you can read all about it here and also here. This is now a 3rd time, which is saying something because I don't actually live in Birmingham. It's nice to sometimes get away and go somewhere else for a change! Especially as this time it is for their Christmas menu
YAAAAAAAAYYY CHRISTMASSSSS
Birmingham is also well known for its christmas market so it seemed perfect to get me into the festive spirit. Christmas market and a christmas meal with a twist trip with my bestie. Couldn't think of a better way to get festive

Supercuts in Stevenage

Supercuts Stevenage

I went along recently to Supercuts new salon in Stevenage that had just opened to experience it for myself. My hair cut is simple. It is a case of trimming the ends to get rid of split ends, and re-cutting my full fringe in. Not the most exciting haircut for them to try out haha

I also had an appointment booked in for me! Again, not what Supercuts is about as they are a walk in salon but I managed to speak to the stylist about this and understand a bit more about this walk in salon system

Snapfish Personalised Gifts
Struggle with what to get that certain someone for Christmas? I always do. It's a tough one because I am quite a giving person anyway and love buying presents for people. I just can't help it. When Christmas rolls around I then struggle because I am all "oh I bought that for so-and-so just because already"

You know what is the absolute best though? Personalised gifts! It really shows somebody has thought about you and they care deeply. Snapfish enable you to make amazing personalised gifts with absolute ease. They can be great little stocking fillers also!

Hema comes to Euston

Hema
Have you ever heard of Hema?

To be honest, I hadn't either until recently! I got invited to celebrate Hema's 90th anniversary AND the opening of their 7th store within the UK. The store is nicely located within Euston station, an area full of constant traffic and the evening consisted of a product showcase all about 'Dutch Life Hacks'. It was also a great chance to experience Hema, look around, and talk to various people about Hema and the ranges

Crazy Color

Crazy Color Lavender
One thing you probably don't know about me is that I change my hair a lot. I get bored easily. I decide I want long, lustrous locks. I get bored and get a pixie cut. I decide a pixie cut isn't doing it for me any more and I decide to grow it out. I get a full fringe, I grow it out, I get a side fringe, I get a full fringe, I grow it out etc etc

I have had red hair, I have had deep purple/brown hair, I have had black, I have had blues and purples and reds and ombres and all sorts going on with my hair. I currently have a bleached (but a bit yellowy/brassy) ombre and the rest of my hair is just growing out. Crazy Color asked me if I wanted to consider going lavender. I have never done softer, pastelly shades before so I leapt at the chance. I was getting bored of my hair so it was time for a change anyway!

Mango Tree Christmas Menu

Mango Tree Christmas MenuMango Tree is a thai restaurant in Fitzrovia in London. It's not far from Victoria station and I have also read up that it is JK Rowling's favourite Thai food place in London. That little piece of info alone got me super excited for a visit here. I would be dining in JK Rowling's faaave

My boyfriend has been to Thailand twice and so loves thai food so of course I said a big resounding YES to reviewing their Christmas menu. Both of us were hella excited to be heading to central to dine somewhere new together. It also coincided well with the fact we had been together a whole month and we wanted to celebrate like soppy new couples do

NEW // Ryan X Lusy

These images have been a long time coming on here! It has been a while since I showed some of my personal photography work and I personally think these are some really strong portraits. Not wanting to blow my own trumpet of course

I have shot male model Ryan Davies-Hall before, but since that shoot earlier this year he has now joined forces with Lusy Logan (joined forces in that they are in a relationship and work together a lot, because let's be honest, damn they are one good looking couple!)

Packing for a weekend away

I always struggle at packing for a weekend away. I struggle with packing in general to be honest. I tend to over pack no matter how long I am going away for. In reality a weekend away does not need 4 t-shirts, all the makeup I possess, 2 pairs of jeans, a skirt, many pieces of underwear, and the kitchen sink. Quite the opposite really. A weekend away is something that is best done when travelling light. Especially if going abroad! Hand luggage rules and regulations mean I can not take all of the makeup I posess and probably won't use. But what about just in case Kaye?! No. Just no Kaye. Calm down and you don't need all of those various shades of red lipstick. Hand luggage rules won't allow you either. Take what you need and not what you want

Zhuzh Tan Accelerator

Zhuzh Tan Accelerator
I am one of those people that tend to tan slowly. I also tend to tan more when I am trying not to tan rather than when actively sunbathing. Generally meaning that when I am just walking about and exploring, I will find I tan more than when lying in the sun all day. It's very odd. Sometimes I'll burn also. That perfect shade of lobster red if I am not careful. Sexy

Earlier in the year I decided to book my first ever Winter sun escape and this month saw me jet off to Faro beach in Portugal to escape the UK for a short break. Ideal World armed me with some Zhuzh! Tan Accelerator and I was off to sun, sea, sand, and better climate

Mark Bowden Hypnotherapy: Stress Relief

Mark Bowden Hypnotherapy
It's no secret that I get stressed a lot. I work full time, freelance in photography, blog as a hobby, and try to fit in time for a social life and a relationship. It is constant full steam ahead with me and it doesn't help that I suffer from depression and have bouts of anxiety and what I call "mini anxiety episodes" where I get a knotted stomach with the feeling of dread and a difficulty to breathe

Last year I tried to become more mindful and practice mindfulness to aid my wellbeing. Colouring, being calm, meditation, but started to find I don't even make time for a bath anymore or to sit down and colour. I'm just the worst person at making time for myself. So yes, I have now decided to go down the route of hypnotherapy to try and aid my wellbeing and my health. But not the typical hypnotherapy of a spinning wheel or a pendulum and "you are in a deep sleep" kind. It is in the form of Mark Bowden's hypnotherapy downloads

Dragonfly Tea Brewing Masterclass

FYI all, I am British but not really. That sentence kinda makes no sense, but what I mean is I have never once sat down and enjoyed a cup of tea. I consider myself more American. I enjoy coffee, American Sports, Peanut butter far too much. I am not a "high tea and crumpets" Brit at all!
The idea of builders tea repulses me far too much that I just never sit down and drink tea

I was invited recently to a #DFMasterclass with Dragonfly Tea so I went out of curiosity and to see if I would come out of it with a new love of tea and hot drinks in general. SPOILER: I was not disappointed

Tarot Readings - a unique gift

Tarot Reading
This won't be everyone's cup of tea, trust me I know because I have dealt with it most of my life as I am very much into the mystical and the occult and anything a bit 'quirky', but have you ever considered a tarot reading as a gift for someone?

No, I never had either, and I actually quite often read tarot cards myself as a little help to clear my mind on days I may really need some clarity. Nothing beats getting your cards read by somebody else though, especially someone who has been into the craft a lot longer than you and may know more!
I recently had my cards read by Tarot Slut as a unique and quirky Christmas gift idea, and I was so impressed by her work that I actually decided to write this stand alone blog post, rather than put her into a Christmas gift guide

Photography Tips for Bloggers

Source: Unsplash

Pictures are the new currency of the internet. Whether you measure your success in Likes, Pins or comments, a great photo gets attention, gets shared and brings audiences to you. For bloggers, especially if you’re blogging about beauty, fashion or lifestyle, photography may be even more important than your words.

For some bloggers, this is a great development and a chance to indulge in some visual story – as I did in my recent post about my day with Farfetch, a top client of mine within my photography career. For others, including new bloggers, bloggers used to point-and-shoot photography or people coming from a vlogging background, this can be daunting. But it doesn’t have to be – here’s your crash course in going from a selfie-Snapchatter to super sharpshooter.

Osmo Chromaplex

Osmo Chromaplex
Bleaching your hair to get all kinds of unicorn, mermaid, pastel hair goals is so popular right now. What isn't popular is the damage bleaching can seriously do to your hair. I have bleached my ends twice now and plan to do so more to get them lighter before I go for the ultimate mermaid hair and whilst my hair feels amazing when I leave the hairdressers, a few days after once the treatment I get done wears off my hair starts to feel knotted and straw-like. Hooray for bleach damage *not*

Yes you can try and intensively hair mask it every week, but why not try and repair hair as soon as you apply the bleach? Rather than when the damage is already done

Beauty with Farfetch

Farfetch have recently launched a beauty section to their site. Initially all about high fashion and bringing you boutiques from all over the world to your screen, you can now shop from all kinds of beauty boutiques also and get shipped to the comfort of your home

To celebrate this, they invited a bunch of beauty bloggers to the London Makeup School to go through some key trends for SS16. They had demonstrations on models, and even then got the chance to try some of them out for themselves!

I was hired as the photographer (I cover a lot of events for Farfetch and more can be seen here and here) and for me this was one of the most fun events to cover! It was just like being backstage at London Fashion Week as I was photographing models and bloggers get their makeup done. Not to blow my own trumpet, but I think I am good at fashion week coverage so this was an event really suited to my skill set!
It is a very picture heavy post, so enjoy! I hope you like what I create

Nano-b toothbrushes

Nano-b toothbrush
I don't know about you, but I have such anxiety when it comes to my teeth! It all stemmed from an early age when I needed so many teeth out as I had too many for my tiny mouth, when I got bullied for having wonky teeth, when I got bullied for having braces and glasses to fix said wonky teeth! (you just can't win as a kid). I also had braces for so many years, they just kept on extending my treatment. Not to mention, an ex of mine was a dentist and the first thing he said to me was "I can fix that gap in your front teeth you know". I should have known not to go out with a guy who says that as his first line...

I have nightmares about losing my teeth. Just so many woes me and my mouth have. "Are they white enough?" "Should I get them whitened?" "Are they strong enough?" "I wish I could afford Veneers". So anything that comes along promising to help my teeth, I buy into. Like these Nano-b Toothbrushes

Bath Melts by Wild-Olive

This year I made a promise to myself to take more baths. Mainly because last year I went through so much trauma and got put onto anti-depressants (another story for another time maybe) and realised that I never take time out for "me" and that soaking in a bath literally makes me feel good for the 40 or so minutes I am soaking for

I started practicing mindfulness and looking into wellness late last year, and a bath helps me with everything and improves my mental health. It literally soaks and melts my sadness away for that evening

The boyfriend knows how much baths mean to me and so bought me a little cute present in the form of these cocktail bath melts from Wild-Olive, but also available on Prezzybox where he bought them from. He bought me these ages ago (like literally 4 months ago) and I am only just getting round to using them now. Terrible considering he bought them as baths are meant to mean a lot to me! Sometimes life just gets in the way of "me" time
