Yes I have already published an NYC photo diary post, but I just took so many pics that I wanted to share that I thought I would seperate them up into seperate posts. So I have my SLR snaps, and this is all the snaps from my phone and the ones I shared on instagram, because they help tell the story of the things I got up to over there
First things first is the fact I got a new tattoo as soon as I landed pretty much
This tattoo I have been wanting for ages as it is to help commemorate 2 people that I lost in 2015. Seeing as I was taking like $1200 out to NYC with me, I decided to look into getting inked over there. SO worth the struggle of finding somebody, because I eventually found Gina and she created something stunning which we placed on the back of my arm
We also didn't realise that people expect you to pay them when you get pictures and selfies with them in Times Square. We have learnt our lesson now I guess and won't get as excited about a selfie with a minion
We found the famous Love sculpture whilst walking to Central Park the day before Valentines day. How fitting!
We ended up taking a picture of a couple there whom also had a picture with the sculpture when they first got together 5 years ago. They were back to take another picture 5 years on. I found this so touching and adorable and wished them all of the happiness in the world
We were told this is the fountain from Friends. It isn't. It's just a fountain in Central Perk. We got duped! The real Friends fountain is in Cali. But it still made for a cute photo from our hoaxy tour guide
I also bought a cupcake from an ATM machine. I think this is the reason why I went to NYC in honesty. It made me so happy and was the coolest thing ever. $4 well spent. The cupcake was tasty too! Peanut butter and chocolate chip
Best bit is, the ATM is right opposite Bloomingdale's too
We stumbled upon Grand Central in our pyjama's when on the hunt for a shop near our hotel to grab water from. Everything was closed, so we went inside these doors everybody was walking in and out of thinking "there must be something there as people are milling about" and then we realised Grand Central Terminal was right behind our hotel all along
We took many, many selfies together on this trip. More so than I have ever done in my life I think. I particularly like this one. It was after one of our daily trips to Sephora (Yes we went to Sephora every day. Not even joking) and we had tried on a whole array of matte liquid lipsticks. Nikhita has on Sephora's own lip cream and I have on Kat Von D's liquid lipstick in the shade "witches"
Of course, we were in Times Square again also
On our last full day it snowed quite heavily. Of course this was the day we had scheduled in a boat trip to see the Statue of Liberty! Typical Kaye luck
It actually made for quite a cute time though as the areas we were walking around looked beautiful in the snow, and even though we couldn't see much on the cruise in the distance, at least we did end up seeing Miss Liberty herself
I really did end up doing loads whilst I was in NYC. I don't think I even scratched the surface to be honest. I really do want to return in a different season and am looking at going back in 2017!
Have you ever been to NYC?
