Farfetch have recently launched a beauty section to their site. Initially all about high fashion and bringing you boutiques from all over the world to your screen, you can now shop from all kinds of beauty boutiques also and get shipped to the comfort of your home
To celebrate this, they invited a bunch of beauty bloggers to the London Makeup School to go through some key trends for SS16. They had demonstrations on models, and even then got the chance to try some of them out for themselves!
I was hired as the photographer (I cover a lot of events for Farfetch and more can be seen here and here) and for me this was one of the most fun events to cover! It was just like being backstage at London Fashion Week as I was photographing models and bloggers get their makeup done. Not to blow my own trumpet, but I think I am good at fashion week coverage so this was an event really suited to my skill set!
It is a very picture heavy post, so enjoy! I hope you like what I create
Bloggers had a quick introduction to Farfetch and what they do, and the fact they now sell beauty products. As well as a quick intro to the makeup school and the makeup artist who would be doing some live demonstrations on 4 different beauty looks that are super hot for SS16
One of the looks was all about being natural. The real no makeup makeup look and the bare minimum, so the emphasis was put onto really good skincare and looking after your skin properly. The best products and the best way to apply them, also how to give yourselves a mini facial at home
The finished look was created by using a sheer foundation rather than a heavy one. The one used was Nars Sheer Glow foundation which is a light coverage rather than a full coverage. A tiny bit of mascara was used, eyebrow taming, and a multi use product was used on the lips and the cheek and applied with a finger to allow for softer results
They then went on to adding a really dark smokey eye on top of this for the second look, which was all about emphasising the eyes and having some weird and wonderful makeup on the eyes. The London Makeup School adapted it to make it more wearable which turned it into a really dark blue smokey eye for the braver of the bunch
We then had looks all about a bold lip, which was with a metallic lipstick. This look is so popular right now and it isn't helped by the fact Kylie Jenner made and released some metallic matte lipsticks which I totally bought into and love wearing
The last look was all about bold blush which had its inspiration from a watermelon of all things. It made sense because the blush was so pink, so high and so bold and the eyes were a green colour to reflect the skin of the watermelon
It was then the bloggers chance to have a go at one of the 4 looks they had just seen. Only a few were brave enough to try the bold blush look, but the most popular one was the metallic lip for sure
