Jojoba oil is an oil we all know and have heard of. It reaps many benefits when used on skin as it is antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and hypoallergenic. Any skin type can essentially use and benefit from Jojoba Oil
I have recently been using Jojoba Oil from The Jojoba Company to aid my skin with some pampering and some ailments I have
I suffer from eczema, acne, dry, oily, sensitive skin with uneven skin tones due to the acne and scarring. Well, that's a lot of problems! So frustrating that I pick up the eczema and dry skin from my dad, and the acne and oil from my mother which in turn then causes my skin to be weirdly sensitive because it has this whole mish mash thing going on. Absolute nightmare!
I started using jojoba oil as a way to try and remedy some of these ailments. To calm and soothe my eczema and acne, whilst also rehydrating my dry areas and helping to keep my oily skin from being too oily (because oil helps fight oily skin after all which doesn't seem logical)
I have found that the best time for me to use this is in the evening. I squeeze 2-3 pumps into my hand and apply direct to my face, massaging it in to all my problem areas and then leaving it to soak in over night. The best use of it is to apply it on to a damp, freshly cleansed face. Again, I still do this at night. I found using it in the morning was the worst time for me as it made my makeup slide all over my face as I never had enough time to let it fully absorb into the skin
I'm sure it would have better benefits for me if I used it morning and night, but I just can't have an oil slick face going on in the morning unfortunately!
My face seems less oily throughout the day and my dry areas aren't as dry as they were since I have started to use this oil. It actually makes my skin feel fantastic also in the evening and even soft still when I wake up in the morning. I can't say it has helped with my acne unfortunately, but maybe because I get deep cystic acne (which is the worst kind of acne and I fear I am stuck with it for life!). It does seem odd trying to combat oily skin with oil, but it actually really works! My skin feels less oily as the day goes on and my makeup has more staying power nowadays because of it
The Jojoba Company, all their products are organic also because they home grow it on their own farm near Yenda in NSW and they manage the entire production. Like our UK faves Lush, but Australian and for Jojoba oil
I'm so happy I found this little blessing to add to my evening skin care regime as I never would have considered it before at all. Jojoba, here's to you!
