It's now January 2017. I guess that means it is time for the 'New Year, New Me' pledges, right?
I'm not knocking the people who do make these pledges. Good on ya for trying to change yourself and hopefully for the better. I'm just not one of those people. I have spent ages trying to like me that I don't want a new me. I just want to better my lifestyle is all! The one thing that always comes up when someone wants to better themselves is weight and food. I want to try and snack better. I snack a lot at work and it's not on good stuff. This is probably severely affecting my diet and weight (as well as the birth control pill)
I now pledge for 2017 to snack better to improve my overall diet and I am starting with these snack bars by Kind
I am one of those people that like to snack on chocolates or crisps or both at the same time. I get cravings for savoury and sweet food and I don't tend to have a preference of one or the other when it comes to a snack. Sometimes I will snack on savoury and then sweet one right after the other and vice versa. I know some people purely have a sweet tooth when it comes to snacks but I just will eat anything and everything and this is what I need to change. None of the snacks I reach for are particularly healthy
These snack bars help that as they have sweet flavours as well as some that can be classed as savoury, so you get the best of both worlds in one snack bar! Dark Chocolate nuts and sea salt for example is one I class as a bit of both. The salt and the nuts are savoury, but the dark chocolate evens it out with a tiny bit of bitter sweet, whereas flavours like Madagascan Vanilla Almond are more verging on the sweet side of the spectrum
Made from whole nuts, fruits, spices and then bound by honey these really are a healthier snack option for me to satisfy any kind of cravings I get. I can also get a peanut butter flavour bar! I am utterly PB obsessed so straight away these are my favourite *can you tell by the fact they sent me many peanut butter ones*
Gluten free, high in fibre and including protein, you really can't get much better than that. You always read it is best to snack on nuts and these are chock full of whole nuts and have kept me going until dinner time when I have one as a mid afternoon snack. There are different kinds of flavour combinations so you are bound to find a favourite flavour amongst their offerings. Mine is definitely the Peanut butter & dark chocolate followed by maple glazed pecan & sea salt. My little sister is borderline vegetarian and her favourite was the Dark Chocolate Mocha Almond, but she also says that she loved all the bars that she tried out
Loved by the US, Kind snack bars are slowly coming to the UK and can be found in Tescos, Sainsburys, Waitrose and Whole Foods
