The Photography Show is Coming...

The only show for photographers is coming back again in March and is bigger and better than ever! This time with the addition of The Video Show. The two now kinda go hand in hand with DSLR's offering video so The Photography Show has expanded to also incorporate a video show chock full of talks for videographers as well as photographers, or even keen amateurists.
This is the first year in a while I can actually attend and enjoy the show as I am normally working it for various brands. I have been a speaker for Manfrotto and Interfit before so don't often get a chance to enjoy the show and take part in all of the demonstrations and talks they actually put on for people like me.

It is the perfect place to get inspired and listen to the various talks happening. Every brand tends to have a stage where they have key speakers and demonstrations, but The Photography Show themselves also have stages and live demonstrations to suit anyone. Their most exciting one is their Super Stage, I remember one year seeing my fave photographer Lara Jade do a talk on that stage. They get HUGE names on this stage.
This year features the likes of Martin Parr, Pete Souza (the guy who was photographing Obama), and Lindsay Adler. Lindsay is deffo the one I want to try and snag tickets to go and see because firstly she is female, and secondly it is fashion related which is my interest.
A new thing which again has peaked my interest for the show this year is their new 'Women who Photo' campaign and I am HERE FOR THIS. It is widely known that photography is still an industry that deals with a lot of sexism. But there is an uprising happening and more and more women are becoming known for their work and it is so great to see the show finally celebrate this.
The Photography Show has picked out some fabulous female photographers and will be showcasing their work all weekend. The aim is to get women to shout about their work, most often like our male counterparts do. It is to inspire and empower us to push our work and career further and show that yes we can do it. This is NOT just an industry for men.
I'm really excited to go and see all of the imagery, especially because Jennifer McCord is involved in it and I LOVE her music photography! They have tried to pick women across all kinds of niches within photography and it is so great to see someone whose work I admire be selected as part of it.

One year it will be my work up there.
As well as all of these inspiring photographers doing talks, and live demonstrations it is also the perfect time to shop. Well, maybe not as we all know how expensive photography is haha but it is the one place where ALL brands are under one roof so you can definitely do some trying before you buy.

Me? I'm hitting up Wacom this year. I have been working hard to try and improve my photoshop skills and I now need a Wacom tablet, I'm also going to be checking out their lineup for speakers because I definitely want to learn some new photoshop skills whilst at this show. You can see the speakers lined up for each individual brand also on the photography show website. On there it includes EVERYTHING that will be happening across the 4 days.
I may also have a cheeky little look over at Profoto because I still want their A1 on camera speedlight.

For those with an interest in video, then The Video Show offers just as much as The Photography Show. You have a drone zone, masterclasses also and the In Motion Theater. I am definitely not into video, I just feel like you need a different mindset to do video as opposed to photo, but even the In Motion Theater has talks happening that interest me! Topics such as travel film, 360 video, making a music video. Their Video Class stage also has topics such as producing and streaming live video content which is a great one for any influencer! As well as one about simple lighting for social media so this truly is a show for influencers as well as budding film makers/photographers/videographers.

There is so much more happening over this weekend than I have time to even write so do go check out the full lineup of brands and talks over at The Photography Show. And what with the addition of The Video Show also this really is a show designed for ANYONE. Whether you are a blogger keen on photos, or a vlogger keen on video, or a photographer wanting to make a move into video also. There is no excuse now not to come down and have a cheeky look and gain inspiration.
